This guided walk will take in the Rosleague peninsula and headland. You will get to explore the rich archaeological history and folklore of this land. Sites include a small burial ground, an old stone courtyard, standing stones which give the area its name (Ross meaning headland and Liagan meaning standing stones).

Leo is a self-employed archaeologist for c. 25 years. His work included fieldwork with the Galway Archaeological Survey and he was a Field Officer with The Archaeological Survey of Ireland intermittently over 10 years. More recently he is acting as Director of The Achill Archaeological Field School since 2021 where various sites are excavated by students over the summer period. He also has a strong interest in local folklore and has a Diploma in Local Studies from Maynooth University.
